THE OLD TIMES: Everything started in Cartagena (Murcia), around 1998/99 when Daniel (drums) and Diego (guitar) began to have meetings every weekend in order to play into a little box room when they were just twelve and fourteen years old. The first year of life in the band “Santiago” joined them playing the bass. Alae Noctis started as a classic Rock ..n.. roll trio, playing Chuck Berry..s covers, but some months later , “Santiago” left the band. Not much time later, two old friends of them got into the one: Guillermo (guitar) and Jose Luis (bass). Through all these years , the band was growing up, playing covers of different kinds of music like punk, rock or metal untill electro, techno music and at last, finishing into the dark sounds. Too much troubles have been happening through all these years, and a lot of people joined and finally left. Once, the group had a singer called “Rubén”, whose brother “Jose” got into the formation a few months later playing the keys. Those where the old times, when the band was formed by teenagers, but “Rubén” finally left, replaced by Diego, who has being the vocalist since then. Alae Noctis tried to work with keyboards a couple of times in the past, first, it was Jose the man in charge of the keys, and after him, "Keeper", the last keyborard player in the band. THE NEW STAGE, “KEYBOARDS LEAVE, GUITAR SYNTHS RULE”: The midi guitar borught with it a new spectrum of possibilities helping the band to get to the next level and opening a new stage. The guitar synthesizers replaced perfectly the keyboards, playing its sounds without any problem. The man in charge of Rhythm and Synth guitar around a couple of years was Angel “Shock”, a kid who got into the formation when the keyboards time where getting to the end with “Keeper”. The band only had a demo tape with a poor house sound, that never became to be recorded in studio. In this time, Alae Noctis started to make itself known, playing in pubs and festivals, supporting once to “The Cruxshadows” in the Existence Festival 2006. THE END OF A DECADE: Once Alae Noctis was ready to start the recording of its first studio album, Angel “Shock” announced that he needed to stop and decided the best for everyone was lefting the group on April of 2007 as a friend. The recording of the band first album called “Alae Noctis” started on 4/6/07 in “Mirage” Studios , by the time “The Wings of Night” found a new guitarist, Alvaro “Pollo” , a talented musician who helped the band to find its own way and attitude. It seemed Alae Noctis had found a solid formation, composed by “Khein”, Alvaro “Pollo”, “Dani ” and Diego “Dandy Dark”, but sadly, after almost a decade ,“Dani” drumer since the foundation in 1998, left the band on October of 2007. SPREADING THE WINGS: Since then, the band played on pubs and festivals as a trio, supported in live with samples, until in late 2008, Jesús “Suso” got into the band as the new bassist. Definetly, Alae Noctis found the most solid formation ever had, composed by Guillermo “Khein” (rhythm /synth guitar), Alvaro “Pollo” (rhythm /synth guitar), Jesús “Suso” (Bass synth) and Diego “Dandy Dark” (vocals, lead, rhythm /synth guitar). The band came back on early 2009 to the “Mirage” Studios to started with the new album recording entitled as “CYBORGS”, showing the most industrial side of Alae Noctis but keeping the ecleptic “Dark Wave” style that always characterized this proyect. The style of the band contains from Post-punk, rock or industrial, untill dark ambient, techno, medieval, electro dark, metal or futuristic sounds. Dark wave style, always envolved by dark and deep gothic atmospheres. About our name, we are "Alae Noctis", that translated into English from Latin means “The Wings of Night". GUITAR SYNTH RULES!!!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOS VIEJOS TIEMPOS: Todo empezó en Cartagena (Murcia) en torno a los años 1998/99, cuando Daniel (batería) y Diego (guitarra) empezaron a reunirse los fines de semana en un pequeño trastero a las edades de doce y catorce años. En el primer año de vida de la banda, “Santiago” se unió a ellos como bajista. Alae Noctis empezó como una banda de Rock ..n.. Roll clásico tocando versiones de Chuck Berry, pero unos pocos meses más tarde, Santiago abandonó. No mucho tiempo más tarde, dos viejos amigos de ellos, se unieron a la banda: Guillermo (guitarra) y José Luis (Bajo). Con el paso de los años, el grupo evolucionó tocando versiones de diferentes estilos musicales como punk, rock o metal hasta electro, techno y llegando finalmente a los sonidos oscuros. Muchos contratiempos han asaltado al grupo y mucha ha sido la gente que ha pasado por ella. Una vez, la banda tuvo un cantante llamado “Rubén” cuyo hermano entró a los teclados pocos meses después que él. Aquellos eran los viejos tiempos en los que la banda estaba formada por adolescentes. Rubén finalmente se fue, siendo reemplazado en las voces por Diego, quien ha sido el único cantante desde entonces. Alae Noctis intentó trabajar varias veces con teclados en el pasado. Primero fue José el encargado de las teclas, y después de él “Keeper”, quién ha sido el último teclista de la banda. LA NUEVA ETAPA, “DESAPARECEN LOS TECLADOS, GUITARRAS SINTETIZADAS AL PODER!!” La guitarra midi ayudó a la banda a alcanzar el siguiente nivel ofreciendo un amplio espectro de posibilidades y abriendo una nueva etapa. Los sintetizadores de guitarra reemplazaron perfectamente a los teclados sin problema alguno. El hombre al cargo de la guitarra sintetizada y rítmica durante alrededor de dos años fue Ángel “Shock” , un chaval que se unió a la formación en los tiempos en los que la presencia de teclados llegaban a su fin con “Keeper”. De aquellas, la banda solo disponía de una maqueta casera con un sonido muy pobre la cual no fue grabada con los medios de un estudio de grabación. Fue la época en la que Alae Noctis se empezó a dar a conocer tocando en pubs y festivales siendo en una ocasión teloneros de “The Cruxshadows” en el Existence Festival 2006. EL FÍN DE UNA DÉCADA: Una vez Alae Noctis ya estaba preparado para comenzar con la grabación de su primer álbum de estudio, Angel “Shock” anunció que necesitaba retirarse y por ello había tomado la decisión de abandonar amistosamente la formación en Abril del 2007, opinando que era lo mejor para todos. La grabación del primer álbum de estudio de la banda comenzó el 4/6/07 en los Estudios “Mirage” de Cartagena, mientras que al mismo tiempo “Las Alas de la Noche” encontraban a un nuevo guitarrista, Alvaro “Pollo”, un músico con talento que ayudó al grupo encontrar su propio camino y actitud. Parecía que al fin Alae Noctis había encontrado una formación sólida compuesta por Khein, Dani, Alvaro y Diego, pero tristemente, después de casi una década Dani, baterista desde la fundación en 1998 decidió abandonar la formación en Octubre del 2007 muriendo así la “época arcaica” de Alae Noctis. ABRIENDO LA ALAS: Desde entonces, la banda actuó en pubs y festivales como un trío, apoyados en directo por bases programadas hasta que a finales del 2008, Jesús “Suso” entró en la formación como el nuevo bajista. Definitivamente, Alae Noctis había encontrado la formación más estable y sólida de su historia, compuesta por : Guillemo “Khein” (guitarra sintetizada/rítmica), Alvaro “Pollo” (guitarra sintetizada/rítmica), Jesús “Suso” (Bajo sintetizado) y Diego “Dandy Dark” (Voz, guitarra sintetizada/ solista/rítmica). El grupo volvió a los estudios “Mirage” a principios del 2009 para comenzar con la grabación del segundo disco el cual tendría por título “CYBORGS” y que muestra el lado más industrial de la banda, pero manteniendo el ecléptico estilo “Dark Wave” que caracteriza a este proyecto. El estilo de la banda abarca desde los sonidos post-punk, rock o industrial, pasando por sonidos folkmedieval, techno, electrodark, dark ambient, metal y sonidos futuristicos. Es un estilo "Dark Wave" siempre envuelto por profundas y densas atmosferas góticas. En cuanto a nuestro nombre, somos "Alae Noctis" cuyo significado en latín es "Las Alas de la Noche".
