Books
I LOVE to read. I am into classic literature/poetry, and I like to read novels with action in them, like crime dramas. I can't get into those cheesy romance novels. I have too many books I've started reading already, but my current favorite is "Dracula" by Bram Stoker. Some of my favorite authors/poets: John Grisham, Mitch Albom, Wesley McNair, Edgar Allan Poe, Walt Whitman, Wendell Berry. Robert Frost is my all-time favorite poet. "Birches" is my favorite poem by him. My favorite book (so far) is "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom. I also like the poem "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman. "The Cremation of Sam McGee" by Robert W. Service is also a personal favorite. ..
Heroes
If I had to pick a hero, it would be my grandmother. She has been there for me at times when no one else seemed to be. I also have great admiration for Nellie Bly, one of the first female reporters in American History. She had the courage to walk right into the New York Times and ask for a job, and she eventually ended up with her own column. ..

About me:

I am first and foremost an aspiring writer. I'm a journalist, and I am still working toward achieving the goals of finding work at a good newspaper, and publishing my first book. I'm very bookish, and I have a growing collection of classic literature on my bookshelf. I love to be outdoors in the summer. Sitting outside on a sunny day with a good book, or just with my notebook to write, is the best thing in the world. I do enjoy sports, camping/having bonfires, and just kicking back with my friends in the summer as well. When it gets cold out, I watch a lot of movies, and kinda get sucked into the TV. In spite of all I hope to achieve career-wise, I do hope to get married someday and have kids. I am big on respect, and it's one of the first things I look for in a guy. I like to surround myself with people who respect me for who I am, and don't force me to be someone I'm not. ..
