About me:

The Association for the Study of Unexplained Phenomenon, Inc., was founded in 1973 to research hauntings, ghosts, UFOs, Cryptozoology and anything else that goes bump in the night! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. All donations are tax deductible!

Our organization has been involved in the studies of hundreds of cases, including The Amityville Horror, Mothman and Crop Circles in Europe, working in conjunction with some of the top researchers in the country. Our findings have been published worldwide, including Fortean Times, Fate and CBS and aired on The Travel Channel and Learning Channel. The founders include Rick Moran, Joel Martin, Steve Kaplan, Peter Jordan and Rita Allen.

ASUP was originally formed in New York City and did research for the New York Daily News features writer Paul Hoffman, who regularly did pieces on haunted places and ghosts in the Big Apple.

ASUP was enlisted by the Psychical Research Foundation in Durham NC to investigate the Amityville Horror some time later, relying on their no-nonsense approach to documenting cases in order to get to the bottom of that case. We were involved in that case for over two years and did a lecture series at Duke University supporting the use of both journalistic and police techniques in the investigation of all unexplained phenomenon.

Since that time, we have done countless cases all over the nation and trained dozens of investigators. The group is now being chaired by Joy Maner since the passing of Rick Moran, and calls the Dallas area home.

Our recent efforts were in conjunction with Australian TV, The Travel Channel and The Learning Channel, doing one hour programs on past cases.

We are a not for profit and very informal group of folks who continue to seek better answers to some of the biggest questions around and we are always looking for volunteers.

Taps Family

The ASUP is pleased to be a member of the TAPS Family,
a quality network of well trained paranormal
investigators who are ready to help everyone.

Who I'd like to meet:

Like-minded people of integrity and substance, who wish to openly discuss all things paranormal.........

ASUP SPEAKERS BUREAU AVAILABLE The ASUP has an active speaker's Bureau that travels across the State of Texas and around the country to educate the public about our work and some of the hundreds of cases we have been involved with over the years. We welcome your requests. Many of our presentations are pro-bona, with no charge to the host; others are charged a modest fee to continue to support the non-profit efforts. We are also available for radio programs. Some of the most popular shows in the last year have been on Amityville, Mothman, Big Foot and the Men in Black phenomenon. Over the last several months, we have done almost two dozen radio shows on the Mini-Box Investigations, which are ongoing by ASUP. All presentations are even handed and address the pros and cons to the topics. They are suitable for Library, College, Secondary schools and community groups. We welcome your feedback and will work with you to meet your needs. Just give us a call - 903-873-2320 or contact Joi Moran at joi-moran@asup-inc.org
