While he’s better known as the longtime frontman of skatepunk icons Pennywise, Jim Lindberg also sings and plays guitar with his side project the Black Pacific.
Also originally featuring bassist Davey Latter (of Everest) and drummer Alan Vega (from Good Guys in Black), the band captures the driving punk sound that has made Pennywise a punk rock institution. Shortly after forming and recording their debut, Latter left the Black Pacific to tour with Everest. To fill out the lineup, Lindberg recruited bassist Gavin Caswell, as well as former Dropkick Murphys guitarist Marc Orrell. The band released its self-titled debut, which was produced by Far’s Shaun Lopez, on Side One Dummy Records in 2010, and shortly afterwards embarked on its first European tour. ~ Gregory Heaney
