Hello, funny movie fans! My name is Laurie and I'm a funny movie addict. Actually, I like all types of movies, but I tend to come back to comedy as my number one. I grew up in Alabama and I live in the thriving metropolis of Tuscaloosa - home of my alma mater, the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). I am a freelance writer and voice over talent who spent many years as a news anchor and reporter before finally deciding, in a sleep-deprived haze, to switch gears. Good decision. I'm now well-rested, not nearly as neurotic and generally happy with life.

When I'm not working - and sometimes, when I am - I read about movies. Rom-coms, teen comedies, black comedies, Brit comedies...all of them. I am lucky enough to have the chance to write about movies regularly now, though I'm a terrible critic myself. It is rare that I dislike a movie enough to totally slam it - or to walk out of a theater (where I regularly, gleefully plunk down $10 for a few hours of escapism). I hope to keep you up to date on all things comedy movie-related and hopefully I can offer up some nuggets of info to keep you in stitches as you muddle through your day.
