One body, three minds.
Bryan "Comodity" Hearne can now be known,
officially, as Hip Hop's Split Personality. This Staten Island, New
Yorker moved to California, in 2005, with hopes of creating a buzz for
himself as big in LA as it was in NY. Best known for his party songs
(such as Comodity Bop and Prince), Comodity is also appreciated by his
fans for street singles like SingleHandedly. With his first album coming
out soon, fans have been anticipating the direction Comodity will be
taking. The question is... "What is PRINCE?"
In early 2006, Comodity was the final piece of a Hip Hop puzzle when he
became a member of the Royal Family. Controversy struck the west side
when Royal Family fans heard about this, then unknown, rapper crowning
himself as Prince of "The Fam." "After meeting up with J-Dub," says
Comodity, "I knew I would work well with the RF fellas. We all
compliment each other quite well. We're really like a family, less like a rap
group that was put together. They accept me. We just...fit!"
After collaborating and releasing J-Dub's "My Throne", Royal Family
decided to start work on Comodity's album. All four members of the Fam
have put through the right amount of participation to make this album
perfect. But it’s not the collaboration from Comodity's fellow group
mates that makes this album so interesting...its the collaboration
from...himself?
"Prollem" was once known as "The Prollem Child" to fellow rappers and
friends who lived around him in Harlem. He's best known for his
irresistible swag and unique fashion sense...not to mention his insane metaphors. Prollem dropped the "Child" after turning 18. He is the side of Comodity that specializes in cracking jokes. He's always been the class clown. Probz, for short, is never someone you'd want to find yourself arguing with...you'd probably end up with hurt feelings.
"Sadistic" is exactly what his name says. He's just not a nice guy. Born
and raised in Brooklyn, he's seen more violence than the law should allow, and his personality shows it. He's the exact opposite of Prollem and Comodity. He, in fact, doesn't like his other halves very much. Where as the other two are lighthearted and happy, for the most part, Sadistic hardly cracks a smile. When he does laugh, its at the expense of someone else's pain.
With three personalities living in one body and working on one album,
there is no way Comodity can fail. All we can do is wait and see the
outcome as this Hip Hop Hero attempts to save the game!
