Hapi McKenzie (guitar/vocals) and Patty Pfister (violin/vocals) refer to their music as CRABGRASS - a unique blend of Country, Rockabilly, Americana, Bluegrass, and swing. Since meeting on July 4th 1988, Hapi and Patty have performed at many events, concerts and festivals, sharing the stage with such legends as Riders in the Sky, Alison Krauss, Patsy Montana, Trace Adkins, Ralph Stanley and The Clinch Mountain Boys (just to name a few). They have received many awards, and were voted “Best of Tampa Bay” by readers and critics of Creative Loafing entertainment magazine several consecutive years. From the moment they hit the stage until the last song is sung, the Crabgrass Cowboys entertain with old time favorites, top notch original tunes, harmony and humor - colorful costuming ( like those singing cowboys of the silver screen) adding visual appeal.
