....In the spring of 2007, we arose to bring the ethics of riot grrrl and anarchisM to the Portland metal scene. Born of longstanding friendships and prior music projects, Cull first came together when Dylan, Melissa, and Jacqui joined forces and started writing. Once songs began to take form, Dylan enlisted his younger brother, Ansel - not only filling out our sound, but also solidifying the close-knit, family-like dynamic of the band ....Having discarded the macho posturing typically associated with metal, we work to actively create community and space for women in heavy music. .... We travel in a herd - please help us support our friends and continue to grow our scene into a whole world of kickass by signing up for the Empire on Fire mailing list ..here... ......
