.. .. .. .. .. .. ........ ........ ........ ........ .. .. Cure for Static, one of the Boston area's fastest growing local acts, has burst onto the music scene by blending the rich groove sounds of artists like the Dave Matthews Band with the pulsing chords/riffs of rock acts like Incubus and Third Eye Blind in a musical bacchanalia. Cure for Static is made up of vocalist Jarrett Clayman, drummer Brian Schon, guitarist Tom Feeley and bassist Bill Batten. Together they are waging a no-holds-barred battle to reach listeners through melodic vocals, catchy and progressive songs, and an energetic live show that never fails to impress. Cure for Static has already packed Boston's best clubs and is now taking New England by storm. .... =============================================== .... A message to friends and fans: .. From SHRED News- .... "For an unsigned band, Cure for Static has already posted some impressive numbers that stem from their impressive ability to self-promote their exceedingly mature sound... These remarkable achievements are not without merit; Cure For Static has live performances that are truly an inspiration. The band always plays with a level of high energy and engaging passion that reflects how much they love playing music and performing for fans. .... It is clear that with an EP out and a strong touring schedule, Cure for Static is soon to become dynamic in the music industry. So if you want to return to the roots of rock and re-experience the true sound of alternative music, check out Cure for Static and claim that you knew them before they were famous." ...... From Playground Boston Music Blog- .... "Higher Ground is soaked with tranquil melodies interspersed with jazzy little tidbits to keep the relatively calm proceedings fresh and interesting. Ultimately, this stuff is great summer music, perfect for grillin’ in the backyard or lounging around at the beach... The boys channel their inner-Incubus on the track “Imitating Gravity,” which encompasses equal parts acoustic strumming and some funky electric guitar work. The hypnotic guitar harmonics that echo over the bubbling bass line intro to “The Line” immediately sinks its hooks in and doesn’t let up, leading up to an extended tribal drum jam with some very tasteful guitar soloing... The standout track on the EP is its title track, “Higher Ground”. The guitars, bass and drums lay down a tense, storyteller vibe for the lead singer to weave a tale of love on the rocks. Soon the radio-friendly chorus hits like a cool breeze with Kaufman and Clayman laying down some great dual vocal harmonies while gradually elevating each lyric to new heights."
