  • Bio

Cyril Lance first came out with his debut album "Stranger in My House" in 2001 after almost 20 years of working in group projects or as a sideman that took him across much of the US and to Europe. His follow-on album "LIVE from the OUTSKIRTS" was released in 2004 and demonstrates the passion and sponteneity of his band featuring some of the best roots-musicians in the country. Billboard Magazine wrote: "Lance has masterminded one of the best contemporary blues albums of the year. His virtuousity on guitar and lap steel is undeniable, and his songwriting makes him an instant item in bluesville." RELIX Magazine wrote" "After a dazzling solo debut, Cyril Lance returns with a breathtaking six-song live disc from last December that further strengthens the argument that he's one of the most exciting guitar players around today. Lance's guitar soars from melodic phrases to sinewy, spiraling leads." Cyril's music is rooted in the blues, but everything else is fair game. Drawing from his wide experience in most genres for the American music scene, his goal is to take you on a journey that is full of passion and unique to that night. Known to never play songs the same, and to head in many directions, the OUTSKIRTS performances definitely a happening. .... .. .. .. .. ..
