...... ............ ..DUB K 25.. ..I remember the first time I was hooked into Hip-Hop. I would always hear the song "Summertime" by WIll Smith while going to my babysitters house every morning... ..When I was 12, a friend that was moving away left me his notebook as a cheap present. When I doodled in it a couple days later, I started rhyming words together and writing things down that were going on at that time in my life. For 2 years i produced beats and wrote rhymes with my cousin Madd Skillz and we would perfrom thoses songs at a local church... But I guess when my cousin left, so did my passion for music. Fast forward a couple years, I'm in the 3rd quarter of junior year and some of my friends were talkiing abouit making a song. At first I laughed at the idea, but seeing them write down lyrics made me want to give it a shot for old times sake. We recorded a few songs, but they weren't anything great and you could tell I was still a novice and/or rusty. We created a group called 5RILL5 and started recording even more music... ..After some time, a few of the grop members decided that music wasn't there true calling and slowly stopped recording material. But in the summer of 2008, I became serious about my own music and recorded lyrics on mainstream beats for a couple months. Before I took control of most of my music, our music group was basically a joke at our hgih school, but after a release of my own remixes, people noticed I was serious about my music. My producer now, Cali Steve, and I still recorded material on mainstream beats, but the recording was at his house now instead of mine. With upgrades to our music, we released the mixtape, "Cali Steve's Christmas Chronic" in January 2009 for a local high schools... ..With that mixtape, our priority was to get a feedback on our music to see what the public thoguht. Some cuts were loved by anyone who listened to them, and gained our squad more respect Directly after the release of "Christmas Chronic", I began recording new material that was scheduled to be released at the end of the school year. This was my sign off to my old high school, and something I wanted my classmates to remember me by... ..With this mixtape, I began collaborating with people that I had been waiting to compose songs with. Through many name changes, we all decided to call it "Cali Steve Presents:Dead Poets Society/Summer Sounds. The Dead Poets Society side of the mixtape concentrated on serious topics and darker material. The Summer Sounds side was designed to put you in a feel-good mood for the summer that contained upbeat tracks. (Pause Button)... ~pa-pa~.. ............ ........ .. ............ ....
