    ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA.. .. ..Electric Light Orchestra.. formed in Birmingham, England in 1970 and quickly became one of the most celebrated bands in music. Led by multi-talented Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood, the musical pioneers offered the world a revolutionary new sound by combining vibrant space-age iconography with classical orchestrations and progressive rock. The result was ambitious, adventuresome and unforgettable. Between 1974 and 1981, ..Electric Light Orchestra.. gathered an astounding nine consecutive gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums and had charted more combined Top 40 singles than virtually any other band around. In later years, Lynne went on to produce for the likes of Tom Petty and The Beatles, as well as perform with supergroup the Traveling Wilburys.
