Parisian Lead singer Nina Courson teamed up with British guitarist Phil Honey-Jones just over a year ago to set about writing a glam/grunge/punk/new wave melange of songs. Taking their influences from a fine blend of genres they have discovered their own unique style. Healthy Junkies are a reaction to the dominance of processed, same sounding music in the U.K. They are real and play live as they do in the studio with passion and determined belief. Nina’s Brigitte Bardot like appearance is the icing on an extremely delicious sonic cake , her vocals soar ethereally over the driving guitars and crunching rhythm section. One listen and you will be hooked, becoming junkie to The Healthy junkies.

The first release is the new single “Copycat”, the dvd music video of which is contained in this package. The song was born through a dispute between 2 Parisian girls (both in the video) over the theft of music and words, the making of the video reconciled them in real life. The video was filmed and edited by Steve Walker who has recently had some success with videos played on MTV (The Krak). Phil and Nina teamed up with Adam Lewis on drums and Tjay Tarantino on bass guitar to record the music for Copycat at Area 18 studios, Acton with producer Richard Bignell.

Healthy Junkies and Banana Castle Records are part of the new generation of DIY underground.. They have their own crowd, working regularly with other bands from the same melting pot of genres, all the time gaining followers and momentum at live shows in London city centre, but that is about to change with a U.K. tour in the making.
