Jimmy Martin – music makes the world go round...
...was the sole thought of Jimmy Martin, when he moved from Luxembourg to Los Angeles at the age of 19 to become a professional musician. Just having arrived there, he quickly became a part of the local music scene and started playing in several bands. This was the beginning of Jimmy’s career, which has hugely developed not only as an artist, but also as a well known and respected composer and producer.

After Jimmy’s arrival in the states, well known music lawyer Michael Shapiro soon discovered Jimmy’s talent and took him under his wing, introducing Jimmy to various well respected songwriters and producers such as Grammy Award winner Clif Magness (Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion) .

His first single "Leaving it all behind"was released in 1986 and voted " newcomer song of the week by RTL.

In 1987 Jimmy joined Fisc, France's number one rock export band. He recorded two albums with the band : "Too hot for Love" and "Handle with care" and joined the band for two European and one US tour.

His debut album "“The Rhythm of Life”"with the hit single "“I Can’t Fight Love"” hit the charts. During the same year, he recorded a charity song for “Red Cross” in his native language, as well as in French, which stayed number one in the charts for over a month.

His second album followed swiftly: „"Kids Of The Rockin‘ Nation"“ featuring big names such as John Edwards (Status Quo), Jeff Rich (Status Quo), Laurie Wisefield (Tina Turner) and Don Snow (Simply Red). The single „"Drivin‘ Through The Pourin‘ Rain”"was written by Desmond Child, famous for his work with Bon Jovi , Ricky Martin and Cher.

In 1994 upon invitation from IWTP (International Women’s Tennis Association) Jimmy wrote and performed the song "“Martina your in our hearts"” for Martina Navratilova. The song was a gift to mark the end of her career in professional tennis.

In the same year Jimmy co-wrote and represented Luxembourg as "Modern Times"with his song “"Donne-moi une chance”"at the Eurovision song contest in Ireland. It was broadcasted live all over Europe to around 500 million viewers.

For the introduction of the Euro, Jimmy co-wrote with Grammy award winner Clif Magness (Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion) a song, to represent Luxembourg on a cd called “Eurock”. One Artist was chosen from each country to be placed on this compilation cd.

Now a well established figure on the music scene in Europe, Jimmy stormed the charts with his hit single „Angels“ in 2002.”Angels” became the title song for the programme “Die besten Hits mit Gefühl” which was broadcasted for over three months on the European TV and radio stations RTL, RTL II and Pro Sieben. For his success at achieving No.1 in their charts, Jimmy was presented with a golden award from RTL in July 2003.

Jimmy’s songwriting and producing skills have been much publicised and talked about over the last year, as he has produced, together with Clif Magness, Tommy Remm and Valicon, the English Pop Idol winner Jamie Shaw, whose album “Different”, containing the homonymous hit single, was released in2005.

But one can’t keep a dedicated musician like Jimmy Martin behind a recording desk in a studio for long. In 2006, he recorded in Los Angeles and Berlin, as a duet with American Superstar and Grammy award winner Rick Springfield,Rick’s 1984 smash hit “Love Somebody”.

The video to the single is one of Germany’s Hit 24 Video Music Channel’s most played videos of 2008,with more than 6 months in rotation.

At the end of 2008,Jimmy was presented a “digital download award” by his German record label in order to honour multiple downloads of his hit single.
