A LITTLE INFO ABOUT JR
"Born in Sacramento, CA, JR is the son of a drywall contractor. JR’s dad had to move where the work was, so he has lived in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and now hangs his hat in Missouri. Blessed with two children and a loving wife, his greatest joy is to hang out with them. JR has been influenced by several different genres of music including rock, blues, and of course country music. In 1997, his song "Don’t Tell Me Goodbye" received acclaim in a Nashville songwriting contest promoted by TNN. The song won a spot in the top 50 out of 10,000 songs received nation wide. JR writes songs about life, family, and his deep seeded faith in Jesus Christ. He plans on visiting Nashville several times this year and see where "the music" takes him."

JR not only sings and writes COUNTRY songs, he also is in a CHRISTIAN ROCK band called "Thelma's Dog". Here's some info on them (taken from their myspace page)...
Thelma's Dog is a Christian Band that formed in the late spring of 2003. It exists solely for the purpose of glorifying Jesus Christ and ministering to the "least of these". Thelma's Dog is an intense expression of blues, classic rock, southern rock, and all out rock-n-roll rolled up into one that's as unique as the name. The band's style has allowed them to "take them old records off the shelf" and return to the roots of good ole' rock n' roll. Having been compared to the sounds of Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, CCR, and Blue Oyster Cult, this seven-piece caravan pumps out incredible mixtures of music likened to Lynard Skynard's signature three guitar sound. Each member feeds off the other in an all out worship to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Intense and personal lyrics jump from the lips of TD's very talented and anointed singers. These lyrics, coupled with an amazing ensemble of rhythm/lead guitars, powered bass, a rock solid beat, and interjected percussion, as well as their 11-1/2 years average experience, have allowed TD's music to rise well above the ordinary. From the first "lick", one will feel the ever-present focus on God breathed lyrics and music so anointed that, on many occasions, TD is known to have developed songs in a single night. This, driven by the Holy Spirit and an amazing sense of unity, has allowed TD to be blessed with a repertoire of over 30 original songs, with many others on the "back burner", within the first year of existence. This enables TD to fill virtually any time frame needed. Their explosive sound, along with their overwhelming desire to minister the Word of God, creates an incredible ministry tool for any occasion. What it all boils down to is simple. TD is just a bunch of country boys who are completely focused on serving Christ with the talent that He has given to them to further His kingdom.
