  • Bio

King City Thieves formed after vocalist and lead guitarist CJ Wilson collaborated on a project in late 2006 with bassist Dave Blank. CJ and Dave immediately found themselves on the same page musically but that band soon ran it's course, so Dave joined up with CJ in his other band. Soon,a flashy, eccentric, sober and energetic drummer by the name of Boogie came into the picture and change the landscape of the band. Throughout the next year, due to frustrations and tensions, the band broke up, but CJ, Dave and Boogie stayed together. In late 2008, King City Thieves were born. In a relaxed upper floor on US Highway 69, King City Thieves were busy writing an original brand of punk rock n’ roll. After perfecting a sets worth of material, King City Thieves decided to call on long time friend of everyone in the band Chris Masochist to step in on rhythm guitar and vocals. In the summer of 2009, King City Thieves recorded their debut EP titled “The Whirlwind EP”. Since the full lineup’s conception, King City Thieves have played in and drew crowds in all of Kansas City’s premier bars, clubs, hotspots, and basements. The KC Thieves are a rowdy and resilient group of musicians that are loyal friends and have established rock hard common ground musically. Reviews: Every once in a while it is incredibly satisfying to stumble across a band that has all of the right ingredients to be a great band, that we can help spread the word about. Here with KC Thieves (King City Thieves) we have a perfect example of that. It’s fair to say that Tim Armstrong’s Hellcat Records could do a lot worse than give these boys a break. This is one of the most exciting unsigned Punk bands that I’ve heard in a long while. KC Thieves truly kick ass! -Jim Ody at Roomthirteen.com
