A Texas native, vibraphonist Mike Dillon is an eclectic musician with a bent toward jazz, funk, and avant-garde rock.
Having performed since the late '80s, Dillon has worked with a varying cadre of similarly minded artists including Les Claypool, Garage a Trois, Karl Denson, and others. On his own, he has led several groups including Mike Dillon's Go-Go Jungle, which released its debut album, Battery Milk, in 2007.

Between that release and 2009's Rock Star Bench Press on Hyena, he guested on recordings by Ani DiFranco and David Egan. Between 2010 and 2011, he led a collective called the the Dead Kenny GS with Skerik and Brad Houser, who released Operation Long Leash on Royal Potato Family. Also in 2011, he was part of Marco Benevento's Garage A Trois for Always Be Happy, But Stay Evil.

In 2012, Dillon released Urn on Royal Potato Family, and played on Doug Belote's Magazine St. In 2013, he was part of Ruby Red for The Love Language on Merge. Later in the year he participated as a member of Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, who released New Ammo in early 2014.

Dillon also started his own new band with three younger musicians he met in New Orleans: trombonist Carly Meyers, bassist Patrick McDevitt, and drummer Adam Gertner. The quartet recorded Band of Outsiders in Miami with co-producers Gary Vandy and Richard Maloney, Jr. The album was released by Royal Potato Family in April of 2014. ~ Matt Collar & Thom Jurek
