  • Bio

this is the solo mitchell johnson material. i also play in four other bands: Fred Savage & the Unbeatables; Spencer McGillicutty; The Grandpas; Sam & Me. These are just pop songs that i wrote that don't really fit too well with the styles of the other bands. i've been writing for a long time, but only started recording my own music a few years ago. lately i've been recording with better equipment, so now i have a few songs recorded well (i.e. No Need For Wives), and loads that are recorded not-so-well (i.e. As Far As I Can Tell). most of my efforts, songwriting, money, and time are put towards the other bands, so my own personal music doesn't really have a place to live outside of myspace and my own computer. also, i prefer to write with other musicians, so that doesn't help my solo repertoire. overall, i enjoy pop music. i don't care about pretentious poopy. i try to write good melodies, and i enjoy hearing good melodies. my favorite band is creed.

well, this site used to be all solo mitchell stuff. but lately i've been having cameos. so i suppose every now and then you'll hear ryan or eric singing, or perhaps steve or peter playing drums. but most of the instruments and voices are still me. i really need to make another another another another site.
  • Influences

The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Elliott Smith, Of Montreal, Ben Folds Five, Tom Kain, Adam Sternke, Eric Stinson, Ryan Smith, Belle and Sebastian, Sean Lennon, Rogue Wave, Jon Brion, Simon and Garfunkel, Sam & Me. Brian Wilson and John Lennon are two of my heroes.
  • Sounds Like

i wish i sounded as good as The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Elliott Smith, though i reckon i sound a lot like The Grandpas and Spencer McGillicutty, especially the songs of theirs that mitchell sings on.
