Have you ever just stopped and thought about what this is really all about? Like today I was driving to varsity and I passed this guy walking along the road, I have never seen him in my life. We live in the same country in the same city possibly in the same street, yet he probably doesn’t even know that I exist. You can go to a mall on any given Saturday and see hundreds if not thousands of new faces that each have their own story, issues, expectations, dreams, hopes, failures, questions, experiences…. sometimes we get so involved in ourselves that we forget that we are just 1 in 6 000 000 000! What??? That is 6 thousand million lives, some just beginning some nearing the end, some in a pit of despair, some at the hight of fulfilment… its weird to think. Hmmm we really are quite small. What is this all about? Some people believe that they know the answer so completely that they are willing to end the lives of others, who they have never even met, that don’t see things the way they do. I figure we are all just guessing anyway. All I can do is hope that my guess is close enough to the truth to keep me on a path that does not infringe on others and allows me to live a life that makes every moment count. At the end of the day there is going to come a time, no matter who you are, from Robert Mugabe to the girl next door, that you are going to breathe your last, close your eyes and know the truth… maybe that will be the end maybe it will just be the beginning but whatever it is I figure that it is the way that we have treated those around us that counts? This is what I choose, to do justice, love mercy and to walk humbly, and hopefully I will have the chance to make the lives of those around me a bit better even if it is just for a moment
