The Gallery formed in the late eighties (can anyone remember back then?) when four young lads from South Dublin decided to get together and drive the neighbours nuts… From humble beginnings, the band became a regular feature at the Baggot Inn, supporting the likes of “Man Bites Dog” and “The Outpatients” (ah those were the days) and eventually taking centre stage themselves on Tuesday nights in the regular three-band bashes… The Gallery reached their pinnacle on November 3rd 1991 when they performed their track “Real World Carnivals” live on the “Kenny Live” show on RTE television. The host said the band would “go places”, and we intend to, we just got a little distracted along the way and went off to do some soul-searching and the like :-) But we’re back with our souls intact and ready to rock, so watch this space… Three of the songs above were recorded in 1990 for a 7” single … back then we didn’t have the gear that’s available today hence the quality of the recordings isn’t perfect, so give us a break, OK? Watch this space for new recordings appearing soon made with the best that 21st century technology has to offer :-) Finally, thanks to everyone who gave us a kick-start … you know who you are...
