Ruby Amanfu is a Ghanaian born singer/songwriter residing in Nashville, Tennessee.
She is best known in America as being one half of the duo, Sam & Ruby.

While on Polydor UK ('01-'03) Ruby had a top charted single in Europe titled “Sugah” (Smoke & Honey-2003; Polydor/Murlyn/Interscope). Her songs have been cut by many acts in Europe and America including Kelly Clarkson, Lene Nystrom, Sanne Salomonsen, Rachael Lampa, and The Duhks.

In 2007, Amanfu had a song nominated for a Grammy ("Heaven’s My Home”, as performed by the Canadian band, The Duhks; co-written by Katie Herzig), which later went on to be featured in the 2008 movie, “The Secret Life of Bees”, with Sam & Ruby’s own version.

Amanfu has worked with artists such as rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson, Patti Labelle, Jack White, Dan Wilson, Charlie Peacock, Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), Chris Thile, Katie Herzig, Seasick Steve and Trent Dabbs.

Five record deals and two publishing deals later, Amanfu is enjoying creative freedom and is ever inspired and grateful for the abundant chances she has been given to continue to create and inspire through music.

In her down time, Ruby is an aspiring chef.
