Ohio recording artist, Truf collaborates with Florida producer, Smoove L to create the "Flohio Project". Florida plus Ohio equals "Flohio". This project is a maxi single, consisting of four R&B songs, produced and performed by Truf (Stanley Mcshan) and Smoove L (Frank Louis). .... The Flohio Project is scheduled to be released in August 2010. The first single from the project, entitled "Duck Duck Goose" was released earlier this month and is available at iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon. The single, "Duck Duck Goose," conveys the stress of a struggling father caught in the web of the child support system. Without degrading women or bashing the system, Truf lightens his chest. His soulful blues-like approach is complimented by Smoove L's sultry style. The groove is melodic. The chorus is catchy. The lyrics tell a story that is too familiar. .... .. ........ .. .. The fact that Truf and Smoove L have never met face to face, makes the Flohio project more impressive. "This all came about through dialing the wrong number," Truf explains. It was a Saturday in March when Truf placed a call to Florida. He was attempting to phone his uncle. Dialing in haste, he'd reached Smoove L's cell phone instead. Truf heard what seemed to be a live band playing in Smoove L's background. "You've got the wrong number," the Florida producer told Truf. .... "Hey!" Truf called, just before Smoove L. could hang up. "If you don't mind me asking, what song is that?" .... Smoove L. explained that the music was his own personal composition, which was to be released in the spring. Truf then explained that he too was into music and had written a song called "Duck Duck Goose". Truf sang the song over the phone. Smoove L. became intrigued and began playing the piano to Truf's lyrics. The two singers exchanged information and came up with the Flohio Project. Truf tracked his vocals to an instrumental Smoove L emailed him, then mailed them back. Smoove L. wrote and added his verse. The first single from the Flohio Project was born. .... Truf and Smoove L communicate through phone calls and emails at least twice a week. They plan to meet, in person for the first time , in the near future when they shoot the video for "Duck Duck Goose". The single is currently being featured at rnbjamz.com.
