DJ Q, a Maryland native born and raised in Annapolis, refuses to settle for one type of music or technology. Starting with just a hobby and a love of music at a young age, DJ Q was intrigued by the DJ's in the early or birth years of Hip-Hop. Regularly creating mixtapes for his friends to ride around with in their "Boomin' Systems", DJ Q began to fine tune his skills of music selection. Most critics will agree that one of the most crucial, but often overlooked skills is how to “read” a crowd. It’s what distinguishes a good DJ from a great DJ. .. .. Transitioning from CDJs to DVJs and now to Computer Software has allowed DJ Q to experiment with various effects, while never fearing to try new things. DJ Q is credited and recognized as a unique and versatile entertainer often called "a chameleon of the music industry" for his ability to adapt to whatever environment he plays in. Whether he is playing Commercial House, Hip-Hop, Old School, Pop, Top 40 or Rock you won't believe your ears! Thanks to a brief residency at a local rockbar, DJ Q discovered a love for a completely different side of music than the one he grew up with. Fusing this new style of music with well over a decade of experience he quickly became known as one of the east coast's most sought after "Mash-Up" artists. It was this reputation, along with the fact that he is one of only a handful of Video DJs which landed him a spot at Seacrets – Jamaica USA, a club ranked 8 in the nation. .. .. Primarily based in Baltimore, DJ Q spins regularly as a resident at some of the hottest downtown clubs that form PowerPlant Live. He has also has begun performing several guest spots nationwide in order to feed his desire to conquer new challenges. In addition to playing corporate events and clubs, DJ Q also runs his own company, Shiny Entertainment, where he works with multimedia production and other entertainers such as his female counterpart, DJ KayJay. Armed with the latest audio and video as well as over a decade of experience, these DJs mix and scratch it all together live so you can SEE and HEAR the performance.
