Even if you’re not a fan of the Hostel films or his work in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, you still might get a kick out of Eli Roth’s fake trailer he made for Grindhouse back in 2007 called Thanksgiving. There have been rumblings of turning it into a full length feature, but without an update for a long time, we assumed it would never happen. Now Roth says that he and his writing team have cracked the story on it, so we could see it in theaters in just a couple of years. Watch the NSFW original trailer and read more below!

Here’s what Roth told Behind the Thrills, via Slashfilm:
    .
“We finally cracked the story and figured out how to really make it scary, and the reason to do it. I’m really excited about it. The Clown writers wrote one of the best scripts I’ve ever read, and before Jon Watts starts shooting Clown he’s got a window, and Chris Ford, his movie Robot & Frank just opened, Chris and John are going to write the screenplay with me and my writing partner Jeff. So we’ll have a draft soon.”
    .
The “Clown” project he keeps referencing was a fake movie that a group of guys put together that closely resembled an Eli Roth project, and the director liked it so much that he actually met those dudes and is teaming up with them to write this screenplay. Sounds like a dream come true for those guys, and I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving joining the ranks of Machete and Hobo With A Shotgun as films that started as Grindhouse trailers that end up becoming real features. Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think – would you see a full length Thanksgiving movie?
